Immediately after stepping off the train in Paris, both Levi and I knew that we wern´t going to be impressed. The city is very dirty and we didn´t have a good experience with the people. Many we encountered were rude and refused to speak English, even though we knew they knew it. It was interesting to see how much they were into the elections. That is all that was on the TVs, news. When we came into the hostel, the first words from the lady was, "Obama is your new President!" She was so excited...we were both like yeah we already knew that. Anyway, while in Paris, we went to the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. The Louvre is beautiful inside and out. If you are familiar with art, this is the place to go. There are over 30,000 exhibits in here. Levi and I basically went to the Mona Lisa and a few other cool looking peices of art. It was very crowded. Although they say no cameras with flashes, it wasn´t enforced. We got pics of the originial Mona Lisa. I thought the Eiffel Tower was cool. It lights up every hour on the hour. We also met up with my co-worker Jeff and his wife Jenn for dinner. That was very nice to speak English after being so frustrated with not understanding any French. We shared stories about what we had been up to. They were taking all these walks around neighborhoods in Paris and were loving it. Some of their pics were really cool.
We boarded a train for Spain and were very happy to be leaving Paris. We were headed for Biarritz, France where my friend is from. Due to a train strike, we were lucky to get on the train so decided to take it as far as it would to San Sebastian, Spain so we could take a night train to Barcelona. San Sebastian was so cute. I loved it. We were able to walk around for a few hours prior to boarding the train. We both would love to go back. Immediately after getting off in Spain, we both knew we LOVE SPAIN!
Barcelona will be discussed in the next blog!

I'm sorry to hear about Paris...bummer! It's kind of funny to hear one account vs. the other (Jeff doesn't want to leave). Glad to hear all is still going well, can't wait to hear about the next leg of the trip.
